Naming Opportunities

Naming of Floor Plans, Buildings, and Other Spaces

In recognition of generous support or of devoted service to the Housing Development Alliance, HDA may name specially designed floor plans, subdivisions, roads, buildings, and other spaces.

HDA Floor Plans

The most common naming opportunity we have is naming a floor plan in recognition or in gratitude of a donor (giver of a one-time gift of $1,000 or is a loyal donor for over 5 years), longtime/veteran volunteer, or HDA supporter. We can call a floor plan for one of our homes by your first or last name (or the name of a loved one). Examples are “The Jake” and “The Hawkins.”

Subdivisions & Roads

Subdivisions and roads may be named in recognition of a donor who contributes an unrestricted Annual Fund gift of $5,000 or more within a single year.

One-time gifts, pledges, bequests, life income gifts, and matching gifts are the types of gifts eligible for naming opportunities. Please contact us for more information about these gifts and our policies for each.

Commemorative & Memorial Gifts

Tree Plantings

The Alliance will designate a tree or small plant bed, upon the request of the donor, as a memorial in recognition of a gift of $2,500. The Development Team coordinates the location, tree species, and plaque installation (where applicable) with the facilities staff. The Executive Director determines locations suitable for tree plantings. Every effort will be made to comply with specific donor requests, but not all requests may be possible to grant. Commemorative plantings cannot begin until the complete gift is received.

Plaques

Normally, plaques are offered only for capital-related projects. Plaques near trees, plantings, or other areas are ordered and installed through the Development Director. Language on plaques is kept simple, brief, and consistent with such signage elsewhere.

Longtime Volunteers

Volunteers – whether individuals or groups – who have dedicated more than 10 years of loyal service to HDA are also eligible for naming opportunities. These volunteers are identified by HDA’s Volunteer & Community Coordinator and will be notified appropriately.
